Date: 2024-12-05 10:40:18

From November 7 to 12, Prof. Wu Xingzhi, a member of ZIA’s Youth Scholars on the CPC’s Innovative Theories, went to Cuba and Brazil for cultural exchange with the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration delegation.

In Cuba, the delegation held a closed-door symposium with the Fidel Castro Ruz Center on modernization efforts in China and Cuba. Prof. Wu presented on the development of ZIA’s research centers. He engaged in discussions with Cuban scholars on Zhejiang’s development and the study and dissemination of the CPC’s innovative theories. The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Cuba and the Cuban National Library, exchanging views on cultural exchanges between China and Cuba.

In Brazil, Prof. Wu was a featured speaker at the launch of the Portuguese edition of President Xi Jinpings Up and Out of Poverty and at the China-Brazil Governance Seminar. His presentation, titled “Chinese Modernization in Zhejiang”, highlighted the province’s exploration of Chinese modernization under the “Double-Eight Strategy” and its theoretical contributions. The speech was well-received by attendees. Additionally, Prof. Wu participated in the China-Brazil Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning Forum and the launch of the exhibition “Beautiful China, Beautiful Brazil: Celebrating 50 Years of China-Brazil Relations” and the eponymous book.

This exchange marked a significant milestone as the first international outreach effort by the Youth Scholars on the CPC’s Innovative Theories. As an integral part of implementing the directives of the 20th CPC Central Committee’s third plenary session and the 15th CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee’s fifth plenary session, the visit showcased the practical outcomes of Zhejiang’s “Double-Eight Strategy” and the theoretical and practical implications of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The exchange offered valuable insights for enhancing ZIA’s international outreach efforts and reaffirming its dedication to sharing China’s story on the global stage.
