On November 27th, Professor Hok-Lin Leung from Queen's University in Canada delivered a lecture at Zhejiang Institute of Administration(ZIA), as the 63rd session of ZIA's "New Youth Academic Workshop". It was the first lecture in a series on mutual learning between modern civilizations. Vice President Lv Qingmin attended the lecture.

Prof. Leung, exploring "The Future of American Civilization", elaborated on inherent cultural disparities between China and the West, offering insights into the definitions of "culture" and "civilization". He emphasized the "cultural gene method" in his research, projecting the future of American civilization. Prof. Leung highlighted that Chinese values, including the philosophical concepts of moderation and integrity, along with the modern idea of a "community with a shared future for mankind", can bring certainty to the trajectory of human civilization.

The lecture drew an audience of over 50 participants, including faculty members and current graduate students.
